In an abundance of caution and following the advice of the Centers for Disease Control, Wednesday collection of yard debris will be suspended indefinitely due to the continued spread of COVID-19. Residents are asked not to place any debris street-side until further notice.
There are numerous public beach access paths on Sullivan’s Island. There wooden boardwalks as well as foot paths leading to the beach. Handicap paths are located at Station 18, Station 21 and Station 26.
Public parking for the beach is allowed in the public right of way. All vehicles must obey the no parking signs at all times and keep all four tires off the pavement at all time. It is illegal to park or block the beach paths with a vehicle or golf cart at any time. There is public parking in front of Battery Thompson as well as behind Town Hall during non-business hours.
The Town also has beach wheelchairs outfitted with over-sized wheels available to residents and visitors. Advanced reservations are required. To reserve the wheelchair, fill out the Beach Wheelchair Application (PDF) and return it to Town Hall.
