Arbor Day

Arbor Day Celebration

Farmers Market at J Marshall Stith Park

Arbor Day CelebrationsEach spring we continue the national tradition of celebrating the importance of trees with our Arbor Day Celebration at the Battery Gadsden Cultural Center and annual Farmers Market. A tree sapling handout kicks off the event, with education, and entertainment through the Farmers Market. The event is free with local food and drink available for purchase.

While supplies last, attendees can pick up a free tree to plant at home and enjoy time for Q&A with our certified arborist including tips for proper planting. Additional booths will be onsite representing other local environmentally focused groups.

This year we are celebrating our 2nd year as a Tree City USA Community, a designation that we are awarded based on our investment in the management of our urban forests. The Arbor Day foundation is the world’s largest tree-planting organization and in our community we offer citizens the opportunity to plant trees, and perform other environmental services.
