The Town of Sullivan's Island is governed by a seven member Council, including a voting Mayor. The Mayor and Council members serve staggered four-year terms. Municipal elections are held every odd calendar year in November.
Council is charged with establishing goals and policies, modifying Town ordinances, approving the Town's annual budget and awarding Town contracts.
Town Council meets a minimum of two times each month. There is a Workshop meeting at 6:00 PM on the first Monday of each month, and the regular Council meeting (at which official actions are taken) at 6:00 PM the third Tuesday of every month.

Join the High School Youth Council! Meetings take place on the first Monday of each month (before Council Workshops) at 4:45 p.m.
