Tropical Storm Chantal will possibly make landfall along the middle to upper South Carolina Coast late Sunday. Higher rain chances, with heavy rainfall possible, especially along the coast. Gusty winds, especially along the Charleston and Colleton County coasts, I-526/HWY 17 bridges, and over the coastal waters. Enhanced risk of rip currents through the weekend.

The Town of Sullivan's Island is governed by a seven member Council, including a voting Mayor. The Mayor and Council members serve staggered four-year terms. Municipal elections are held every odd calendar year in May.
Council is charged with establishing goals and policies, modifying Town ordinances, approving the Town's annual budget and awarding Town contracts.
Town Council meets a minimum of two times each month. Committees meet at 6:00 PM the first Monday of each month and Town Council meetings are at 6:00 PM the third Tuesday of every month.
