Administrator Message- Charleston County Recycling Schedule

Thu, 01/13/2022

Recycle

Good afternoon Island Residents,

The Town has been advised of scheduling and collection issues with the Charleston County Recycle Program. The County was unable to service the Island yesterday nor complete the collection today. County officials anticipate that the Sullivan’s Island collection will be completed by tomorrow. Please leave your cart street side this evening. Residents are reminded that all recycle items must fit into the 95 gallon carts which are serviced by automated trucks. Drivers do not exit the truck cab to collect material.

Temperatures are expected to dip to near freezing this weekend. Early forecast from the National Weather Service show no indication of temperatures below 32’F (or 0’C if you are on the metric system). However, you might like to take precautions to protect your outside pets and plants. Additionally, stay tuned to the local media outlets to monitor conditions. Should the temperatures dip below freezing, you may wish to drip your faucets to avoid frozen/broken water pipes.

Regards,
Andy Benke
