SULLIVAN’S ISLAND, S.C. — Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic will conduct an exercise on Stations 28 ½ and 18, Sullivan’s Island, S.C. April 21-23, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This event will include three to four NIWC Atlantic personnel, and equipment tested will include a radar maritime sensing capability using a 10-meter tall, guyed mast, commercial maritime radar system, and Starlink terminals.
If members of the public see the equipment, please do not attempt to approach, touch or interfere with it.
During testing, military radio and radar frequencies will not interfere with other frequencies or electronic communications in the area.
This testing is part of NIWC Atlantic’s routine scientific mission to enhance and train the interoperability and performance of various naval system configurations and capabilities. NIWC Atlantic routinely conducts similar activities on Sullivan’s Island.
