Good evening Island residents,

The Isle of Palms Police Department responded to a shooting on the beach near the County Park and pier at the Sea Cabins. Four individuals were shot and have been transported to MUSC with non-life-threatening injuries.

Several law enforcement agencies are on scene to assist with on-going investigation. Traffic is moving on and off both Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island at this time; however, due to law enforcement response and investigation expect long traffic delays.

Sullivan’s Island Police Department has a large law enforcement presence because of the incident. There is no safety concern for Sullivan’s Island residents.  Nevertheless, because of heavy traffic as vehicles leave both islands, it may be prudent to not drive or bicycle around Sullivan’s Island at this time. Traffic should subside in a few hours.
