SCDOT issued this status update:

We're aware of an issue on the Ben Sawyer Bridge that requires further inspection and potential repair. The bridge is closed to traffic. Inspection crews are en route, and we will provide updates as they become available. In the meantime, we ask drivers to use alternative routes.

Barricades will be placed at Station 22.5 and Myrtle Avenue. Local traffic will only be allowed beyond the barricades. Please drive with caution.

The pond at Station 28 1/2 is currently not considered safe for recreational use due to high bacteria levels.

St. Patrick's Day Cancellation

cancelledIn an abundance of caution, the Town has decided to cancel the St. Patrick’s Day children’s celebration in Stith Park as well as the street closure and outside sales scheduled for this Saturday, March 14th. The health and safety of our residents and visitors is top priority. As such, we will follow recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control concerning COVID-19.
