Council has recently tasked Thomas and Hutton with exploring additional recreation concepts for the Stith Park Master Plan which could further enhance the Park experience.  To gather additional information, the engineer has been asked to delay the presentation scheduled for April 16, 2024 to a later to be determined date. Appropriate notification will be provided for the rescheduled presentation date.

Fire Department

Mandy Hawver

Amanda Hawver, Assistant Chief, 19 years on 08/11/22
Mandy has been in the fire service for over 24 years. Born and raised in Mount Pleasant and Sullivan’s Island, Mandy started service the citizens of Sullivan’s Island in August of 2003. Police Department

Chris Griffen

Chris Griffin, Chief of Police, 25 years on 08/19/2022
Chris serves as the Chief of Police for Sullivan’s Island. His law enforcement career began at the North Charleston Police Department in 1995.  He joined the Sullivan’s Island Police Department in August 1997 as a patrol officer and was given the opportunity to advance through the ranks.  Positions held in the department include corporal, lieutenant, acting chief before being appointed police chief by Town Council in January 2018. Law enforcement is his passion and he especially enjoys helping people, becoming part of the community, and developing the department for the future. Tom McLellan

Tom McLellan, Fleet Manager, 28 years on  08/13/2022

Gary Erickson

Gary Erickson, Sergeant, 7 years on 08/22/22
Sgt. Erickson joined the Sullivan’s of Island Police Department in 2016 and has many years in law enforcement experience.He has been assigned duties in administration protocol for State and City citations and as evidence storage custodial assistant. Glenn Meadows

Glenn Meadows, Patrol Officer, 1 year on 08/23/2022
Glenn started with the Town in August 2021. He has over 39 years experience in law enforcement. He is a SC State certified instructor and enjoys establishing police/community partnerships. In 2005, Glenn retired as a sergeant after a 25 year career with Newport News, Virginia Police Department. After retirement, Glenn served in Iraq and Afghanistan in a civilian Rule of Law advisory capacity.
