Town Council will vote to approve the contract with Trident Construction at the June 15, 2021 meeting that will provide for construction of the Fire Station and storage building.  The process began in 2017 with a condition assessment of the structure. After almost a year of study, Council opted to replace a large portion of the 30 plus year old Fire Station. The improvements will result in a Emergency Operations Center capable structure built to current seismic and hurricane design standards. Additionally, issues such as water intrusion, mold, insulation and ADA access will be resolved.  Finally, the structure has the necessary functional improvements that will better serve the Department and general public. Likewise, the project includes a building that will provide covered storage for town equipment as well as space for future office expansion.
