In an effort to adhere to the Governor’s emergency orders, and out of an abundance of caution, the Town will not be blocking off the street along I’On Avenue between Station 17 and Station 18 during Halloween night. Should you wish to trick or treat please use caution and follow the Center for Disease Controls guidelines for Trick or Treating and Other Halloween Activities. The Blood Connection will be hosting a blood drive event at the Sullivan’s Island Elementary School parking lot located at 2014 Mike Perkis Place on Saturday, June 27 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Blood supplies always seem to be critically low. In addition to saving someone’s life with your donation, donors will receive results from the highly accurate MUSC developed COVID-19 antibody test (results take 7 to 10 days) and a $20 Visa gift card. This is a great opportunity to both give blood and determine previous exposure to COVID-19.
Interested parties should use the following link to secure a time-slot. Time slots booked up in two hours earlier this week; so, The Blood Connection doubled the size of the event by providing approximately 40 additional slots. Visit https://donate.thebloodconnection.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/148340 to schedule your donation. Please click the event flyer below for a pdf version.
